Garlic BreadLindsay Barton
Garlic bread is Americanized, but thank Italy for bringing this delicious staple stateside. Buying the freezer version won’t cut it anymore. It’s an easy recipe to follow that goes great with a variety of dishes, especially pasta. Try it once and you’ll never go back to the pre-packaged one again!
Ingredients3 bulbs of garlic2 tablespoons of olive oil1 loaf of Italian bread½ cup butter1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and slice the tops off the garlic bulbs. Place the bulbs on a baking sheet and glaze with olive oil. Bake for 30 minutes. Set the oven to broil and slice the loaf of bread in half. Place the cut side up on a baking sheet. In a medium bowl, squeeze the cloves of garlic from their skins. Stir in the butter and parsley until well blended. Spread onto the cut sides of the bread and broil for about 5 minutes.
